Safi, N's safety mascot chameleon

Introducing ‘Safi’, our safety mascot chameleon

At N, we always put Safety First, and as a part of that commitment, we’ve introduced a safety mascot. It all started in 2024 with a mission to design the most unforgettable mascot that could help our teams nurture a consistent culture of behavioural safety across all nurseries.

We turned to the best creative minds we know, our children. With their help, we dreamed up the perfect safety ambassador: a chameleon named Safi! The new mascot is a colourful chameleon with a Ghanaian-print crest, flamenco-spot underbelly, curled tail and friendly, and big watchful eyes.

Designed to make learning about safety engaging, memorable and lasting, ‘Safi the Safety Chameleon’ is being embedded across all N nurseries. Whether it’s washing hands, climbing stairs, or crossing the road, we wanted a playful yet powerful way to help recognise hazards and build confidence in safety in the early years.

With the help of a fun and engaging visual aid, our educators can now teach the importance of staying safe to children across N. The character has become the newest member of the N ‘Safety Squad’, and a big help in developing safe habits both at nursery and at home.

Claire Hill-Burton, our Head of Safety said “I’m excited for Safi to join our Safety Squad and support our children’s development.  Safi is a playful but powerful way to help children recognise the importance of safety. Safi cements N’s commitment to Safety First and ensures our children can stay safe in a fun and engaging way.”
