Proud to be part of N: making a difference together
There are many moments that make our teams proud to work at N. Watching a child take their first steps. Supporting a colleague as they work towards a qualification. Seeing the care and effort they put into each day making a difference to a family.
That pride also reaches beyond our nursery doors. Through our partnership with War Child and opportunities to support causes close to their hearts, our teams help bring N’s commitment to giving children the best start into the wider world.
It’s one of the reasons the Great Place to Work statement, “I’m proud to tell others I work here”, means so much to us.
An education for an education
Every child deserves the chance to learn, play and grow. That shared belief sits at the heart of our partnership with War Child UK.
For every child we educate at N, we support the education of a nursery-age child through War Child. The partnership helps children in some of the most challenging circumstances access learning opportunities, safe spaces and support for their wellbeing.
Over the course of our partnership, N has directly donated more than £320,000 to War Child UK. Alongside this, our teams and families raised over £11,500 during War Child Week in 2025, bringing our nursery communities together to support children beyond N.
Behind those contributions are people choosing to get involved, giving their time and finding thoughtful ways to encourage others to take part.
Going the extra mile together
On Sunday 11 October, 11 members of our N team took on the 2026 Oysho Royal Parks Half, raising over £3,000 for War Child.
For our Beckenham team, the challenge was an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone while supporting a cause they care about. As Harriet shared:
“We initially took on the marathon as a challenge and to see if we could complete something totally out of our comfort zone!”
She also spoke about what they hoped to show along the way:
“We would also like to show that team N Beckenham has strength, determination and a great supportive team!”
Their fundraising extended beyond the race itself, with a grab-and-go breakfast for families, a sound bath evening and a raffle. Each activity gave team members and families another way to get behind the team and support War Child’s work.
It’s easy to see the connection between these efforts and pride in working at N: people taking on something challenging, encouraging one another and bringing their community with them.
Supporting causes that matter to our people
Giving back at N also means making space for the causes our team members personally care about.
Through Give as you earn, colleagues can arrange charitable donations through their payroll to a charity of their choice. Our charity sponsorship initiative gives team members the opportunity to apply for a contribution towards their chosen charity when fundraising. Seasonal charitable activities offer further chances to get involved throughout the year.
Whether someone is running a half marathon, organising a fundraiser or making a regular donation, there are different ways to contribute.
Pride grows from seeing the things we believe in reflected in what we do. At N, that includes the care we give children every day, the support we offer one another and the generosity our teams bring to their wider communities.
Together, those actions give us something to feel proud of, and a reason to keep making a difference.
